Vacuum Energy and Black Hole Geometry

We consider semi-classical Einstein equations modified by the vacuum expectation value of the energy-momentum tensor in quantum field theories. Static configurations and dynamical collapsing processes are studied. The presence/absence of horizon is found to be sensitive to the details of the quantum vacuum energy.
