Investigation on Electronic Structure of Fe3O4 Epitaxial Thin Films

We demonstrate optical magnetic circular dichroism (OMCD) as an effective mean to explore the valence electronic structure of wide band gap magnetic oxide system. Test sample was molecular beam epitaxially grown of Fe3O4 thin films on MgO(001) single crystal. The results are interpreted from the revisit of valence band spin-polarized photoemission as well as first-principle calculation. The obtained OMCD absorption spectra agrees well with generalized gradient approximation+Hubbard U (GGA+U).
