Ψ(2S) ->J/ψ + Ππ in Pp Collision at Sqrt(S)=200 GeV at the Star Experiment

The Solenoid Tracker at RHIC (STAR) detector is one of the most powerful high energy nuclear physics detectors in the world. The newly installed Muon Telescope Detector (MTD) started operation since 2014 and it allows us to study the quarkonium states via the dimuon channel. Therefore, a powerful muon identification plays an important rule for quarkonium physics in STAR. Especially in the charm sector, the measurement of the J/ψ and ψ(2S) production will provide us useful information on the quarkonium production and feed-down mechanism. In this presentation, I will present the muon identification in pp collisions at 200 GeV in the STAR experiment and the potential way to study the ψ(2S) meson using the J/ψ (mu mu) + ππ decay channel.
