Exploring Thermally Induced First Order Phase Transitions in a Higgs-Yukawa Model with a Dimension-6 Operator

We search for thermally induced first-order phase transitions in a Higgs-Yukawa model we a dimension-6 operator. This operator could emerge from BSM physics beyond certain cutoff and can have significant impact on the Higgs-Yukawa model if the scale of cutoff is relatively low. We study this model using lattice simulation to provide non-perturbative information about this model. In particular, we are interested to see whether this model can lead to strong enough first-order phase transitions that can lead to baryogenesis.
